Koh Kitayama

Born 1950 in Kagawa, Japan. Completed a masterʼs degree at the Yokohama National University (YNU). Co-founded WORKSHOP in 1978. Later founded Koh Kitayama + architecture WORKSHOP in 1995. Professor at YNU from 2001. Professor in the Yokohama Graduate School of Architecture (Y-GSA) at YNU from 2007. Principal of the Y-GSA from 2011 to 2016. Professor at Hosei University since 2016. Commissioner of the Japan Pavilion of the 12th International Architectural Exhibition of the Venice Biennale held in 2010. Works include 10 C.T./G-FLAT and YUTENJI APARTMENTS. Publications include Toshi no ejento wa darenanoka [Who are the Agents of the City?*] (TOTO Publishing), TOKYO METABOLIZING (co-author) (TOTO Publishing), Kitayama Koh no kenchiku kukan: in-between [Koh Kitayama Architectural Works: in-between] (ADP), and Modanizumu no rinkai [Critical Point of Modernism*] (NTT Publishing).
