Tsuyoshi Seike

[Associate Professor, The University of Tokyo / Architect]

Born 1964 in Tokushima, Japan. Graduated from the Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo (UTokyo) in 1987. Completed a masterʼs degree in architecture at the School of Engineering at UTokyo in 1989. Teaching assistant in the Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Engineering at UTokyo from 1991. Current position since 1999. Publications include Sasuteinaburu haujingu [Sustainable Housing] (Toyo Keizai) and Fasado o tsukuru [Making Façades*] (Shokokusha). Has served on numerous window-related committees, including the editorial committee of JASS 16: Tategu koji (Doors, Windows, and Shutters Work) issued by the Architectural Institute of Japan and the inspection committee of the construction guidelines regarding fittings and curtain walls issued by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. His current research focuses include renovation and demolition technology, recycling technology, and environmental impact assessments of buildings.
